Job: Assistant Professor – Ceramics/Sculpture at St. Louis Community College, St. Louis, MO

Position Summary
Full-time faculty member teaching ceramics and sculpture who will also serve as department chair and fine arts program coordinator.
Primary Duties Performed
- Teach beginning and intermediate sculpture classes.
- Manage woodshop and other sculpture equipment and materials.
- Manage adjunct faculty, technical assistants, and student workers in ceramics and sculpture program.
- Knowledge of and facilitation of all safety protocols in ceramics and sculpture
- Chair of Visual and Performing Arts Department and General Fine Arts Program
- Coordination which is responsible for overseeing all fine arts classes and facilities.
- Faculty advisor for student ceramics club.
- Clear knowledge in operation of electric and natural gas fired kilns.
- Teach all foundation aspects of ceramics including general hand building techniques, strong background and skill level in wheel throwing.
- Knowledge of contemporary trends in ceramics and historical ceramics. General working
- Knowledge of slips and glaze chemistry.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in art

Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Fine Arts degree in a studio art discipline. At least 4 semesters of teaching beginning through advanced ceramics as well as sculpture classes on the college level. Community college teaching experience. Knowledge in the marketing of ceramics and art programs. Management experience. Budget experience.
Salary Range:
$55,190/yr – $62,110/yr
