Porcelain and Light are my working materials. Porcelain, which holds this enormous aesthetic potential, the tension between opacity and transparency, the solidity and strength with all its fragility, the nuances of white, all this excites me and I underline the effect of the material through light.
My first luminous porcelain objects were born in 1991. The key to dedicating myself exclusively to porcelain was my encounter with translucent porcelain in Guangzhou, China in 1990. With Porcelain and Light, I can visualize socially relevant themes in contemporary art.
This is evident in all my work. My thoughts have always been concerned with socially relevant issues.
Visions are created by constructively looking at matters. They are events that lie in the future or ideas of something that is not yet perceptible to people. My interest is to draw attention to this without being dogmatic. To find the balance without being boring. The maximum expression in the work with a minimum use of material. This possibility still fascinates me today.
