Eloisa Gobbo: Globe, Oval, Parabola, 2020-2022
The challenge of introducing a two-dimensional medium as glazes, into the three-dimensional space of clay, has influenced the content and visual language in my work. Circularity is the central element of the vessels presented, unique works wheel throw and painted with underglaze colors, in which different polychrome geometric motifs, follow one another in the same surface without continuity. Through the shapes and colors of the painting, I create an illusory spatial three-dimensionality that breaks the roundness of the sphere, creating distortions in the perception of the work, in some cases even with an optical effect.
