Alabama State University, Academic Affairs, College of Visual and Performing Arts invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Ceramics. The selected candidate will provide competent classroom instructions in visual arts, specifically ceramics and three-dimensional art.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach Art Appreciation classes as needed
• Utilize a variety of education strategies in order to engage students with art and traditional and contemporary studio practices
• Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, creative problem solving and discussion
• Provide timely and constructive feedback; respond to student emails within 24-48 hours
• Leverage the Canvas online learning management system
• Advise students
• Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• MFA in Studio Art with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Ceramics, or a closely related discipline, from an accredited institution.
