The School of Art, Architecture + Design (SoAAD) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague for a full time, non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Ceramics to begin in fall 2023.
The Eskenazi School is dedicated to a faculty composed of diverse scholars and practitioners. The successful candidate will demonstrate the values we try to cultivate in our students: curiosity, interdisciplinary engagement, and research excellence. Applicants are sought whose portfolios reflect significant personal research within the School’s focus on Art, Architecture and Design, and whose teaching will address the broad ranging implications of this intersection in contemporary art. Area of expertise within the field of ceramics with an established knowledge and skill set in a range of traditions and techniques. Other skills desirable could include, but are not limited to the figure, sculpture, digital fabrication, and/or experimental practice.
We host a BA, BFA and widely recognized Ceramics MFA program. Responsibilities beyond teaching include but are not limited to participate in group and individual critiques, assist in maintaining the studio environment, provide service as needed by the area and school, and maintain and pursue professional and academic expertise. Studio space provided when available.
We seek candidates who can provide collegiate initiative in a team-based environment. A strong candidate will have demonstrated an ability to work successfully with students, faculty, administration and the community.

Basic Qualifications
All qualified candidates must have an MFA or equivalent terminal degree by the start date of employment.

Salary is commensurate with experience
