Bling-Bling ? — Exhibition of the winners of the 18th International Ceramics Competition of the City of Carouge, Geneva, Switzerland

September 17 -December 11, 2022

Since 1987, the City of Carouge has organised an international ceramics competition. The exhibition of the works selected for this 18th edition offers a broad panorama of contemporary ceramic creation, focusing on an imposed theme: Bling-Bling ?

Both technically and metaphorically, alchemy and ceramics have always been closely related. But the practice of alchemy, which once aimed to transmute lead into gold, today calls into question the notions of success, wealth and the provenance of precious materials. Bling-Bling? It is this process of questioning, in the form of onomatopoeia evoking the sound of gold chains rubbing together, which was addressed by numerous artists in the context of the International Ceramics Competition of the City of Carouge. The works selected by the jury are brought together in this exhibition, which opens the doors to a radiant universe and approaches the subject in its critical dimension.

With the following artists :
Emilien Adage, Alessandri Attale, Andrieu Jeanne, Antonova Arina, Aragão Mariângela, Armada Rodríguez Marta, Aymard Christian, Bourrilly Gregory, Conus Sophie, CEmilien Adage, Attale Alessandri, Jeanne Andrieu, Arina Antonova, Mariângela Aragão, Rodríguez Marta Armada, Christian Aymard, Gregory Bourrilly, Sophie Conus, Stanislas Cornier, Jessie Derogy, Mélanie Duchaussoy, Séverine Emery-Jaquier, Dorian Felgines, Peter Fink, Fabio Frau, Mathieu Frossard, Clara Gagnou, Agnès Galichet, Tamsin Gifford, Núria Gimbernat, Eva Gomore, Coriander Grass, Casey Hanrahan, Stefan Jakob, Jane King, Nikola Knezevic, Manon Letellier, Sunbin Lim, Thimothée Maire, Saranda Mahalla, Jovan Matic, Sarah Michael, Sibylle Meier, Nitsa Meletopoulos, Steven Montgomery, Anne-Laure Montandon, Antoine Moulinard, Marion Mounic, Charlotte Mumm, Eulàlia Oliver, Octave Rimbert-Rivière, Ainars Rimicans, Miranda Roux, Viviane Schlatter-Portmann, Shamai Gibsh, Marie Roos Stephanie, Velimir Vukicevic, Susanne Worschech, Cheng-Chung Yu, Siang-Syuan Zeng
