MUGI Pottery Studio, New York

Mugi Pottery Studio is a unique gem on the Upper West Side of Manhattan (NYC) having been part of the neighborhood community since 1987. We proudly provide a relaxed and comfortable pottery studio for learning and making pottery in a fun and creative atmosphere guided by our team of friendly, skilled and patient instructors, and we offer classes for kids and adult of all ages and skill levels.

Our class sizes are small to ensure individual attention to every student, from the most inexperienced and curious beginner to a seasoned pottery veteran. For those who are not quite yet ready to commit to a full session we we offer a monthly Intro to Wheel Throwing class. We also have a lovely gallery space in which we showcase high quality, one of a kind functional pottery pieces made by our professional studio potters that are sure to bring pleasure to your everyday table and to be the highlight of your table setting for special occasions and holiday celebrations, and of course our unique pieces are the perfect choice for weddings, housewarming or hostess gifts. A unique array of mugs, platters, bowls, casseroles, teapots and vases are always available at reasonable prices. Every so often we also showcase the pieces made by our studio associates and students for pottery made in our classes and studio space.

We have created a selection of one time experiences for fun outings for dates, corporate events, bridal showers, family activities and birthday parties for all ages. Our twice monthly Couples Nights are popular for date-nights with couples looking for hands-on creativity and our workshops for corporate events are great for team building or a special day out of the office. Our birthday parties serve as an interactive setting for your children’s birthday party for an actual class that the kids are directed through the projects step by step and we will clean up the mess afterwards.

In the front of the store, you can enjoy a brightly lit gallery showing unique pottery, while in the back of the studio, you’ll find a spacious teaching space for our pottery classes.
