Sofia Beça

Sofia Beça is a Portuguese ceramic artist, born in 1972 in Porto. She studied ceramics at Escola de Artes Decorativas Soares dos Reis in Porto and has continuously expanded her knowledge through various courses and artist residencies. Over the years, Sofia has developed a distinctive artistic style that blends traditional ceramics with contemporary approaches, particularly through her work in murals, which decorate both private and public spaces.

Her career has been marked by numerous international exhibitions, with her work showcased in prestigious venues such as the National Tile Museum in Lisbon, the Gonzalez Marti National Ceramics Museum in Valencia, Spain, and the Muzeo Internazionale delle Ceramiche in Faenza, Italy. She has also exhibited in countries such as Japan, China, Tunisia, and Austria.

Sofia Beça’s work has been recognized through multiple awards, including the 1st prize at the International Ceramics Competition in L’Alcora, Spain, in 2017. Her work is part of numerous private collections across Europe, Asia, and beyond. She is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC).
